Nidi in one paragraph
Nidi is an app that keeps children aged 0 to 6 close to the family who live far away. It gives the two homes small, concrete things to share across the distance: record her first “oma”, show her uncle the two teeth that came in this week, cook grandma's recipe on Sunday, each in your own kitchen. It goes both ways, and everything stays saved for both sides. It was made by Maru, an Argentine mum who lives in the Netherlands with her one-year-old daughter; all of their family is in Buenos Aires. It has been on the App Store since 31 October 2026, in English and Spanish. The invited family never pays.

How it works
Two homes, one nidi. The person who lives with the child sets up the nidi and invites the person far away by email. Nobody else gets in.
Concrete things to share. Nidi suggests activities made for the child's age and for both sides: some take a minute, some are for the weekend, some are for doing together while apart. Each home picks what fits the day and answers with a voice note, a photo or a few words.
The other home's day. At the top, one line says what time it is, what the weather is like or what is being celebrated where the other person is. Grandparents read the child's name; parents read the name the child calls grandma.
One shared memory. Every moment is kept in Memory, for both homes, even if the subscription ends. The child grows up knowing their faces, their kitchens, their city; they get to watch her grow week by week.
Private by design. Only the adults in that nidi see what is shared. Nothing is public and nothing is sold to anyone.
Why it exists
“When my daughter was born I realised how much I missed the everyday with my family: my mum seeing her have breakfast, her knowing my mum's voice on an ordinary day. I wanted her to grow up and learn with them despite the distance. Nidi is the way we found to be close every day.”MARU, FOUNDER OF NIDI
The founder
Maru is from Argentina and lives in the Netherlands with her one-year-old daughter. The grandparents live in Buenos Aires, eleven thousand kilometres away. Before Nidi she spent over ten years as a CRM Marketing Specialist.
Nidi was born in 2026, after her daughter was born. Maru wanted to bring back the everyday with her family far away, so her daughter could grow up and learn with them despite the distance. It started as something for her own home and is now an app for any family who lives apart.
